Clearing her throat, she allowed her fingers to tap on the steering wheel. Yoobin gripped the bridge of her nose. Her vision was starting to mess up on her a bit. Wonderful. She blinked her eyes quickly, making sure to steer the vehicle carefully. Couldn’t risk crashing too. “Yeah. I don’t enjoy the idea of going at all. But it’s true, we have no choice at this point.”
She turned and steered the car into the garage. The Bravo Captain parked and cut the engine, reaching for her weapons and opening the door. She practically rolled herself out. Her body was beginning to feel heavy. Obnoxious. “Let’s get these papers to them and give our report.”
A small hum signalling the onset of a migraine had Hyuna sighing in an irritated fashion. Migraines were something that she had grown extremely used to since she had arrived back from Umbrella though something was telling her that this wasn’t an ordinary headache this time around. “You know they’re going to make us stay longer than we want. A few days at the least..”
A small sigh of relief escaped her throat as they entered the garage, hoping out of the car as soon as it rolled to a stop. Hyuna noticed that Yoobin seemed to be sluggish and as instinct stood close to her to prevent a fall, should she collapse. “Lets go..”
Yoobin threw the vehicle into drive and slammed her foot on the gas, the tires screeching as she steered the car away from the area. A heavy sigh escaped her lips and she slammed the files on the dash. “All of that bullshit just to get a few fuckin’ papers…” Yoobin mumbled, glaring at the papers as though she were hoping they’d catch on fire.
She lifted a brow at Hyuna’s question and simply gave a nod. “Just peachy, thanks.”
Hyuna sighed softly as she rested her head against her seat. That was way too close of a call for her liking and the adrenaline was still pumping through her veins like fire. Sniffling, she winced as it burned and she rubbed at her nose in reaction. “Must have inhaled something rather toxic..” glancing to the papers, she picked them up, staring at the file, having half a mind to throw them out of the window
She hummed at her sister’s ‘assurance’ if it could be called that. “I don’t look forward to spending any more time in infirmary but I suppose we have no choice…”
Yoobin practically threw herself into the vehicle and quickly jammed the keys in the ignition and started it up, revving the engine a bit. Waiting for Hyuna to follow, Yoobin began making shots between his eyes, unloading nearly an entire clip before the creature finally fell backwards. Her eyes narrowed, staring it down with her gun still aimed. She couldn’t be entirely sure that thing was down and out for the count. For some reason, she didn’t think it would be that easy.
She coughed slightly, scrunching her nose as it felt like she could potentially cough up blood with as raw as her throat felt. Yoobin took in a deep, shaky breath. She was going to have to report this whole thing. All of it. From the first infected to the giant behemoth like creature. This was going to prove to be an interesting day.
Hyuna stopped shooting at the creature just long enough to dive into the car, slamming the door shut behind her. She watched as the creature went down but knew better than to think that he was dead. “Yoobin! Floor it!”
As they sped off, Hyuna ripped her helmet off once again, sitting in her seat restlessly as she wanted to examine her sister to make sure she was alright. She became increasingly anxious as she heard raw coughs coming from her sister. “Binnie…are you alright?” she knew her sister would lie to her even if she were dying but she couldn’t keep herself from asking. They would both have to be examined by the medical team when they arrived back at base and Hyuna wasn’t very comfortable with that thought.
Snatching the helmet from Hyuna, Yoobin quickly placed it back over her sister’s head. “Keep that damn thing and don’t argue with me!” She knew her sister would try to argue, as it was simply in her nature to do so anytime Yoobin tried to ‘play hero,’ as Hyuna called it. The Bravo captain pulled her sister along as she began darting to their means of escape. How obnoxious, she could literally feel the air filling her lungs, kind of burning in the process. Breathing was even becoming hassle, but she wouldn’t let Hyuna know that.
“Forget him and move!” She yelled as she continued pulling her younger sister along. Once the vehicle came into view, Yoobin felt a bit of relief even with the ground shaking under the mass of the beast.
“But Yoobin!” she was going to mention the fact that because she had been experimented with by Umbrella that she was probably more immune to this toxic area than her sister but she knew that Yoobin wasn’t going to hear any of that right now. She still had a hard time accepting the fact that Hyuna had even been taken by Umbrella and she didn’t even have a chance to defend her. With a small sigh she ran along behind her sister, keeping her gun at the ready should she need to use it as another distraction.
She was able to maneuver her sister into moving in a zig zag pattern toward the vehicle as to throw the creature off and confuse him since she knew he wasn’t the most clever creature Umbrella had ever made.
Yoobin’s eyes narrowed slightly as she felt her sister prodding at her side. The captain carefully moved Hyuna to walk in front. Quietly and slowly, she strolled down through the street. Her muscles tensed up suddenly when her ears caught the sound of a sudden motion. Her head turned slightly, catching a glimpse of the beast behind them. All of a sudden, Yoobin shoved Hyuna forward and yelled “RUN!!” The Bravo Captain pulled her gun and turned to shoot at the monster’s head.
The monster swung its arm, knocking Yoobin aside and into a nearby wall. As her body bounced off the wall and to the ground, her helmet was flying through the air. Coughing lightly, she began to crawl away, turning to shoot every so often. All the while she was wishing for Umbrella to burn in hell.
Hyuna tried to stubbornly stay back behind her sister but to no avail as Yoobin pushed her in front of her. With her gun at the ready, she cautiously looked down every alleyway they came across until she heard a sound behind them that made her blood run cold.
She felt the shove from Yoobin but didn’t want to leave her sister behind. Hyuna turned just in time to witness her sister being flung against a wall, her helmet flying off and landing on the other side of the street. With a strangled yell, Hyuna pulled her shotgun off of her back, shooting the monster right in between the eyes, throwing its rhythm off long enough to get to her sister. Ripping her helmet off she tried to force Yoobin to wear it.
“Naturally. Everyone has them.” She knew no one could be completely trusted. And though it was difficult to really say that about everyone, she meant everyone. After all, everyone had the potential to be a double agent, to be loyal to an opposing corporation. Though, it could always prove to be troublesome when someone was in fact a double agent. She, herself, knew this for a fact.
Her head slowly turned toward her sister, lifting a brow. “No sudden movements. Take a slow step and then bolt.”
Hyuna slowly turned her head in the direction that she knew something was approaching from. She didn’t know what it was just yet but she knew it was trouble. Taking a slow, quiet step towards her sister, she prodded at her to move. She was more than willing to stay behind so Yoobin could get away but she knew that her sister would protest and refuse to let her baby sister ‘protect’ her from this thing.
The only way there were going to escape unscathed is if they could get out of this area before the creature could catch sight of them. With that in mind, Hyuna start prodding at Yoobin even more, urging her to hurry as they quietly, tip toed their way down the street, hoping to make it around the corner in time.
Sneaking her way to a near by desk, Yoobin quickly pulled open the drawers, searching for the papers they had been designated to retrieve. “It would be wise to do so.” She gave a half nod, heaving a short sigh as she moved to the next desk. All of this trouble over a few supposedly critical sheets of paper. “I wonder if they knew the toxicity would mutate these things further…” Yoobin stated, idly, continuing to search the drawers in desks. “Aha!” She suddenly tossed a stack of papers onto the desk she stood behind, wearing a rather confident smile.
“Now, let’s get the hell outta this place. I have a feeling something’s headed our way.”
Hyuna stood guard as her sister dug for the correct files. Her eyes trailed over the now ransacked office, wondering how many people had remained in this area after they had evacuated. Glancing over to the Bravo captain, she sighed softly, ”You know they did. How could they not. Especially with certain team members being-..” Hyuna cut herself off immediately as she considered the fact that someone might be listening back at base. “Well…you know..” She knew that Yoobin was well aware of the presence of double agents among them as she herself used to go on many missions posing as a member of Umbrella.
She was only slightly relieved as Yoobin popped up with files in hand. Nodding in agreement, she trailed behind her sister. As they got outside, she froze. Something in the back of her mind kicked her combat mode on and she knew they were being watched. Looking around, she spoke uneasily “Yoobin…I’d say that now would be a good time to run. And to not look back…”
